ALDA's Boston Senior Executive Dinner brings together industry leaders for an evening of candid conversation and perspective on issues shaping the industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with peers in an intimate setting. We'll also welcome MIT Professor Regina Barzilay for a timely discussion: AI at the Frontiers of Drug Discovery and Cancer Detection.

Professor Barzilay, one of the world's leading researchers working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and health, will discuss how machine learning is being applied to drug discovery, oncology, and early cancer detection.

Dr. Barzilay will address where AI is delivering practical value today, the limitations and data requirements that remain, and the potential implications for biomedical research and development. The session will also build on themes explored at ALDA's Fall 2026 Senior Executives Conference, continuing the community's discussion of AI's impact on scientific discovery and the life science tools industry.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Regina Barzilay is the School of Engineering Distinguished Professor for AI and Health in MIT's Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and AI Faculty Lead at the MIT Jameel Clinic. Her research focuses on developing machine learning methods for drug discovery and clinical AI. She is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Medicine, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Her work has also been recognized with honors including a MacArthur Fellowship and the AAAI Squirrel AI Award for Artificial Intelligence for the Benefit of Humanity.
