Decoding the Future: Genetics as a Platform for Diagnostic Innovation
Presented by: Elizabeth McNally, MD, PhD, Director, Center for Genetic Medicine, Northwestern University

The intersection of genetics and diagnostics is proving to be one of the most transformative areas in medicine. At this ALDA member-exclusive breakfast, Dr. Elizabeth McNally will share her forward-looking perspective on how emerging genetic insights are reshaping diagnostic strategies from risk prediction and early detection to treatment guidance and beyond.

Drawing from her clinical and research leadership at Northwestern and her work across cardiovascular disease and genomic medicine—including establishing one of the first cardiovascular genetics clinics in the nation—Dr. McNally will focus on the real-world utility of genetic testing, including:

  • What’s now clinically actionable and what’s still a bottleneck
  • How diagnostics must evolve to keep pace with gene-targeted therapies
  • And where she sees true disruption on the horizon

This session is designed for life science and diagnostics executives who sit at the intersection of science, commercial strategy, and product innovation. Expect an insightful, grounded discussion with takeaways on how to think strategically about the future of your tools, platforms, and partnerships in the era of genetic medicine.

In addition to the discussion, the breakfast offers a valuable opportunity to network with fellow senior executives from member companies and invited guests attending ADLM 2025. It’s also a great way to introduce other executives from your organization to the connections and conversations that make ALDA unique.
